“You attack a golf course mentally, not with your swing.” – Jack Nicklaus

Introduction

Golf is a mental battlefield. For every swing and every putt you need to have laser focus and emotional control. The real challenge lies in mastering the mind. How many times have you doubted a shot or putt or became frustrated following a shot or putt? Probably too many to count.

In golf, the true struggle happens between the ears. In order to reach peak performance, golfers need to learn how to battle self-doubt, overcome frustration, and stay calm under pressure.

“I am about 5 inches from being an outstanding golfer. That’s the distance my left ear is from my right.” – Ben Crenshaw, former professional golfer

Golf is hard! As a mental performance consultant, my goal is to help you:

1) Create a mindset that supports peak performance
2) Stay present
3) Maintain confidence throughout your round.

About Me

Garret Wenrich is a mental performance consultant. He is finishing his master’s degree at Chico State with an emphasis on sport psychology. He is also working towards becoming a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with the Applied Association of Sport Psychology (AASP).

He has provided one-on-one mental performance consulting to athletes at Chico State and specifically golfers. His passion is to work with athletes and enhance their performance to the best they can play. He has helped golfers with their consistency on the course, self-talk, confidence, pre-performance and pre-shot routines, goal-setting, etc. and makes each session individualized to the athletes wants and needs.

Session Information

• First meeting is a free 20-30 minute consultation
• Each additional session is $30 and will be about 50 minutes
o First half will be a conversation in the bar and grill to talk about tools to improve your mental game
o Second half we will go out on the course and put the mental skills into practice
• Remember: Develop the mental side of your game like you do with your shot – PRACTICE.

Regular mental practice is required to improve your mental game. “Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind.” – Arnold Palmer

Golf Lesson's With Nick Fowler

Headshot

Nicholas Fowler
Tournament Director First Assistant

I've been developing players for the past 7 years after a successful junior and collegiate playing career At Folsom Lake College. I passed my PAT in Vacaville CA, after achieving that step, I started my real passion and began my teaching career at Alta Sierra Country Club for the first 5 years from working with players at all levels including Juniors, beginners, intermediate, and advanced players of all ages. Currently, I am working toward achieving a PGA Class A designation. My Teaching philosophy consists of growing from the ground up with short game being the first steppingstone to a great golf swing and a great foundation to build from. Golf is a game for a lifetime, and I would love to get you or your Child Started. I am available for Private and Group lessons.
